a while but now it stops. Lets stop pretending that one has to be a Rhodes Scholar in order to interpret the law of
the land, if that the case the average citizen would never know if they were breaking the law because they can't

THIS IS A FACT: A group of 40 predators descended on Howard Beach Halloween night with the intent to harm our
children in which they succeeded in doing. The blacks have shown us that the more pressure is applied the bigger
the loopholes become and the better chance we have of getting a Hate crime. This is not Fox News and we don't
have to be Fair and Balanced!!! You people are more upset with us having the word "news" on the website than

view that I would take that right away, your view is

better answered by asking them of a lawyer than by

I'm trying to address some of the matters involved in
this attack and the prosecution of the attackers in a
logical fashion. I'm not selling our police or DA
short. I would hope you shared with the DA whatever
it is you know about persons telling you about razors
and such so that they may followup on that
information. I would be very happy to see this
designated as a hate crime or a gang assault, but if
it can't be so designated, I want the DA to have every
scrap of info to work with so that when this goes
before a Grand Jury there is enough evidence to get an
indictment on higher level felony assault charges.
I'd love to see these punks in jail on hate crime
convictions but B or C felony assault can put them
away for a good long time too. The charges they face
right now are arraignment charges, there has been no
Grand Jury yet. Other charges may be added by
indictment and charges can be upgraded at indictment
based on the available evidence.

In response to Stephanie it's not that we have no knowledge of the law and even if we didn't it is plain to see this is the same as
the Nick Minucci case only it was white victims and yes Nick may have admitted to using the "N" word because he apparently had
nothing to hide because he was only defending himself. These gang members are sneakier because they knew exactly what
they were planning and they won't admit to screaming racial slurs because they know they did and they know it will get them
harder time. They used the equivalent of the "N" word for white people and in all honesty to me being called a white mother F'er

First of all, we cannot depend on our Journalistic Purveyors, due to the many inconsistencies and half-truths in their Reports.
If you were a Professional of the NY State Criminal Justice System and the Laws, you would realize that causing such Physical &
Bodily Injury to another, is more than a Slap on the Wrist, wouldn't you agree? I am sure if it was someone in your Family, you
would not be so Lax in your Personal Opinion.
It appears that you do not understand the Law, which you state a Particular Law is applicable to a Particular Situation. Is it only
that the Severist of Punishment is to be enforced, when it is a White Criminal against a Black. Therefore, I would suggest you
do your homework, before you speak, and a Gang of 40, as was stated on the News by Commissioner Ray Kelly would have to
be the truth, as was also seen on the Video Tapes supplied, and to eyewitnesses. To come into a neighborhood armed,
cruising on the Boulevard, they were not here to Trick or Treat that evening! Where were the Police that night, these individuals
covered a long strip of Crossbay Blvd, and there were no Police presence on the Boulevard on Halloween night?? Who was
watching our Neighborhood that night?

show you a law. As you are claiming to be a source of
“news” for the community, perhaps you should begin to
utilize some of the journalistic tools employed by any
responsible purveyor of news. The laws of New York
State are readily accessible to anyone with a computer
which you obviously have since you run a website.
Before just popping off with your opinions, locate for
yourself and read the law you are referring to. Then,
unless you are a lawyer qualified to offer an opinion
as to how the wording of that law is interpreted by
the courts, take the time to speak with a prosecutor
or other lawyer who does criminal practice to get some
background information and explanation which may
better guide your thinking and allow you to understand
the situation better as to why or why not a particular
law is applicable to a particular situation.
Those who are feeding the rumor mill with talk of gang
initiation and razors or anything else should be
sharing whatever information they have with the proper
authorities: the DA and the police. If those rumors
are being told to you or me or anyone else, we should
all be notifying the authorities of them so that they
may speak to those who know the facts behind those
rumors, which then may be prove to be useful in
prosecuting the case.
CBC, this is not a game and the only plan that should
be in play here is to track the rumors, investigate,
find the facts, and insure a successful prosecution of
whatever members of the attacking group who can be
identified by anyone.

The more I hear news that the D.A. is investigating if it was a hate crime or a gang related issue I get more and more pissed. Are
you kidding me 40 people coming to a neighborhood to beat someone up isn't considered a gang? Screaming racial slurs while
beating a kid with a bat isn't a hate crime? Last I checked Nick Minucci is sitting in jail for that same reason only difference is he
had a reason to beat Glenn Moore up these delinquents had no reason to beat up these boys. I am so sick of people calling
Howard Beach racist and saying we hate people that aren't Italian, that is such bullshit. Maybe it's those same people that are
calling us racist that are the racist ones and have small minds. If Howard Beach was so damn bad why would we have all types
of races working here, living here, hanging out here. Of course the media doesn't show that because oh my it would ruin our
KKK image people have of us. It's a shame I do not have my Law degree yet because with all the years of experience I have
working as a Paralegal and being around attorneys I know I could do a better job convincing a jury that this was not only a hate
crime but also that it was gang related. One would have to be an idiot not to believe that, hmmm 40 people with bats, razors and
pipes in a quiet calm neighborhood beating up 2 boys that are of another race and screaming out racial comments....What

they were to go to a White Neighborhood and murder a White Youth. There was also girls in this gang who had Razors in their

Thank you to EF for posting the text of the hate
crimes law. Perhaps some of the neighborhood lawyers
will weigh in with better explanations than mine that
will help people to understand why it is not as cut
and dried as many of the posters on this site seem to
think to get this designated as a hate crime.
As I understand it, as a lay person, this is basically
what it says:
The crime must be intended in whole or in substantial
part by a belief or perception regarding the race or
some other aspect of the victim regardless of whether
that belief or perception is correct and the crime
must be basically driven by that belief or perception.
Just being a particular race, color, religion etc.
does not, by itself prove (for a court of law, I'm not
talking about the court of public opinion) to be
evidence of hate. In this case, just because the
victims were white and the victimizers something else
doesn’t make it a hate crime.
What is the belief or perception that motivated the
bad guys in this case? Some people have been saying
that this case is the same as the Minucci case. But,
is it really? Minucci, selected Moore because of a
belief (which probably was an accurate belief) that
he was up to no good (also probably an accurate
belief) because he was black and in a predominantly
white neighborhood at a late hour. Whether or not any
of us think Nick committed a crime or think he was
justified is an opinion. In the eyes of the law as it
is written, the facts before the court of law were: he
selected a victim based on a perception that the
person was probably going to commit a crime because
his blackness meant he should not be on a street in HB
late at night. (Don't yell at me, I'm trying to
explain a concept here, I know I over-simplified it.)
Nick also acknowledged his use of the N word, and
although he offered an excuse for how he was using it,
that excuse wasn't accepted by his jury. It wasn’t
really the word that made the hate crime stick. It
was the fact that what he did fit the definition of a
hate crime as expressed by the law. That he may have
been accurate about what he thought about Moore does
not mean he could do what he did from a legal sense
not a “street” justice sense.
I believe that this case now on Halloween should be
classed as a hate crime. The reason I believe that is
this: the belief or perception that caused the victims
to be selected was the belief and perception that
white people who live in Howard Beach are racist
merely because of the fact that they live here. We
have been stereotyped and that stereotype is what
drove the crime. Ergo, it fits the definition of the
law. Just as hate crimes can and do intimidate and
disrupt entire communities as evidenced by the concern
expressed by other stereotyped groups when the victims
are from their groups, this crime has intimidated and
disrupted our stereotyped group, which is our
collective geographic community.
If anyone has any information about the crime, or
things that may have gone on before it to help track
the movements of the attackers before the attack,
don’t post it here. Get it to the police or the
District Attorney where it will help to develop the
case that we all want to see developed. Venting our
anger here may make us feel better but it won’t build
the case. Information in the hands of the
investigators will.

of our leaders who met with DA Brown is that the injuries to our children were NOT SEVERE enough to warrant

Why wasn't it brought out that at approx 9:55 pm on 10-31,a teenager was mugged and beat up in front of Sapienzas and taken
away in an ambulance? This happened from the same gang that attacked the teenagers at McDonalds. Was this logged in as a

I look forward to the next rally I hope this one gets more news coverage, I called 311 they told me to write a letter to the Mayor
asking him to make a statement. I thought it was a good idea if he gets enough letters I am sure he will make one even if it's just
to stop all the letters from bombarding him. I admire what PJ is doing and it's great how he is fighting for this community along
with everyone else, I really hope we get the justice we deserve.

I was born and raised in HB and lived there until I was 33 years old and have been living on LI for the past several years.
Living through the New Park Pizza incident (where they used my friends to make a BS example) I think it’s disgusting that these
punks are not in more hot water than they are. Authorities ruined the lives of several families back in 1986 and then did it again
when Nick received a ridiculous 15 yr sentence for stopping a criminal and for calling him what his own friends and family call
him hundreds of time a day (The “N” word). The worst part about it is knowing that the charges and penalties are exaggerated
and not being able to do anything about it.
I still have a lot of family in HB including cousins between the ages of 14 and 17. A couple of them were there that night and
stated that they really weren’t doing anything wrong to deserve a beating. It’s not like they were stealing cars or walking through
the neighborhood with “starter pistols”.
They also said that the Mickey D’s employees ordered them to leave when they ran in there for shelter. It is so obvious that this
is a hate crime. A group of men all from Brooklyn brandishing weapons had to have set out from their homes determined to find
people to beat up. That my friend is called PREMEDITATION.
It may be in retaliation from the Fat Nick incident.
Keep making noise. In a situation like this, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Normally we just sit back and suck it up. We should be
more like other races of society and maybe then we will be treated the same as everyone else.
I just want to say that I miss HB a lot. You don’t find people in other parts of the world like the people from HB. We are a breed of
our own and I’m proud to have been raised there. Please post the rally dates on the website so I can come down and support
my hometown.

I'm happy to see the support of MY community in this unfortunate turn of events. Keep in mind there are victims here..children
and our community, I have had a lot of discussions with numerous people which RUN this community...I am the youngest person
involved in this and I have taken a great effort in trying to piece together the delicate thoughts and emotions of various
individuals...From what I see from the Media is that this story isn't selling, its about money and this story to them has none...BUT
there is a full investigation by the 106 pct and I Personally had a verbal conversation about how this investigation is being
handled ! If anyone read the news paper last Sunday after the attack, Captain Courtesies of the 106pct was the only city
employee to say it was being investigated as a hate crime..I didn't see Ray Kelly? Taking this incident and responding to it with
violent tendencies will just make us look as low as the criminals who caused this problem. As for AL SHARPTON, Let him stay
out of this we are the ones focusing on what is right waiting for an answer from him makes as much sense as putting a
chandelier in a refrigerator .I don't need to talk to him nor does anyone else at this time. I am organizing another gathering for

.CBC.....Twenty Five year old Anthony Roma was arrested and charge with beating up has neighbor's 15 year son .
He also struck the 15 year old with a bat. The youth was taken to the hospital where he need 7 staples to close the
wound. Roma was arraigned today, Judge set bail at $1,500. Roma's neighbor on the other side who also has a 15
year old son was outraged at the Judge .A family spokesperson for the neighbor asked how can you release this
predator back onto the streets by only setting bail at $1,500, "I paid more for a traffic violation", the spokesperson
said. Whether you are Black, White, Green, or Purple you should be outraged that Anthony Roma is walking the
streets.
Anthony Roma does not exist, at least the one in this report, the report is fictitious. The boy with 7 staples in his
head does exist and so does twenty five year old George Morales who's bail was set at $1,500. At this point we do
not know what roll George Morales had in the attack but we in Howard Beach are familiar with terms "gang
mentality", "acting in concert," 40 people constitutes a gang and we all know what the "gang" did on Halloween
night. The gang "acted in concert" as one, we still have 35 members of the gang who descended upon Howard
Beach with the sole purpose to spread hatred and create violence. Will they come back? Perhaps with a weapon
next time? These 35 individuals had a choice to leave and go home or join the angry mob, they chose the later and
they must pay for that decision. We need to set an example as to deter any future gangs from doing harm in our
community, The NYPD must protect the citizens of Howard Beach and arrest the remaining members of this gang
and our DA must prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Hopefully these gang members will then become
productive members of society. If the NYPD fails us we will only become pry for future more violent attacks.

We, the European-American community of Southern Queens are a people under siege. The media demonizes us and the
politicians that we elect not only take us for granted but slap us in the face. Joe Addabbo stood shoulder to shoulder with Al
Sharpton when Nick Minucci and several others beat up a car thief. When White youth in his district are assaulted by blacks and
Hispanics he can't even bother to address a rally of concerned citizens. I needn't go in depth about the anti-White media and it's
distortions about our community. The entire establishment is against us. Saturday nights rally was a good start. We took back
the streets of our neighborhood even if only for a little while. Lets have twice as many at the next one and make sure the whole
city hears our cry for justice!

FIVE INDIVIDUALS ARRAIGNED ON ASSAULT AND MENACING CHARGES FOLLOWING HOWARD BEACH HALLOWEEN MELEE
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown today announced that four Brooklyn teenagers and a
25-year-old man have been arraigned on charges of assaulting and menacing a group of teenagers in the
Howard Beach section of Queens on Halloween night. District Attorney Brown said, “That which is alleged
to have occurred on a busy Queens thoroughfare earlier this week was not some harmless Halloween prank meant to strike fear
in its victims, but a serious assault. The defendants are accused of being part of a mob
armed with sticks that chased and then attacked a group of young people. Such alleged actions have no
place in a civilized society. Fortunately, no one was
severely injured or killed in the melee.”
The District Attorney identified the defendant as
George Morales, 25, of 290 Lincoln Avenue in Brooklyn,
Patrick Pugh, 18, of 542 King Street in Brooklyn,
Terrance Scott, 18, and Talique Jackson, 16, both of 523 Milford Street in Brooklyn,
and Victor Tossas, 16, of 700 Euclid Avenue in Brooklyn.
They were arraigned today before Queens Criminal Court Judge William Harrington on charges of second degree assault,
second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Bail was set
at $10,000 for Pugh and $1,500 each for Morales and Tossas. Scott and Jackson were released on their own
recognizance. The defendants, who face up to seven years in prison if convicted, were ordered to return
to court on November 16, 2007. The District Attorney said that, according to the
charges, Shawn, Joseph, Frederick and Angelo were chased from the corner of 159 Avenue and 92nd Avenue just before 10:00
p.m. on October 31, 2007, by a large group of individuals carrying sticks. In fear of being seriously injured,
the four victims fled around the corner to a McDonald’s Restaurant on Cross Bay Boulevard, closely
followed allegedly by their pursuers – including the five defendants. While inside the restaurant, it is
alleged that one of the pursuers struck Shawn in the back of the neck with a hard object, causing
bruising and substantial pain. Shawn then allegedly observed the defendant Pugh strike Joseph in the head with a broom
handle, which broke on contact. Joseph, who suffered a laceration and substantial pain, was taken to a local hospital where he
received seven staples to close his wound. The defendants were arrested by police officers assigned to the New York City
Police Department’s 106th Precinct. The investigation into whether the alleged actions of the defendants were motivated by hate
is ongoing. Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael E. Brovner, of the District Attorney’s Gang Violence and Hate Crimes
Bureau, is prosecuting the case under the supervision of Assistant District Attorney Mariela Palomino Herring, Bureau Chief,
and Michelle E. Goldstein, Deputy Bureau Chief, and the overall supervision of Senior Executive Assistant District Attorney for
Trials James Clark Quinn and Deputy Executive Assistant District Attorneys for Trials John H. Larsen and Robert J. Masters. It

I have not seen any news coverage on our rally and channel 2 was there and they have not showed any coverage...When Nick
Minucci was charged we saw coverage on every aspect from the night of the incident all the way to his trial about how he beat

Why is there no information or Court Dates on WebCrims for these Criminals? Were they all released and not charged with any Crimes? When
Nicholas Minucci was charged, it was posted on WebCrims immediately for all the World to see.
It is also rumoured that many of these individuals already have Criminal Records, including Felonies, and have Court Dates for previous Crimes.
Why have they been Released, when they have committed such a Crime, and we as a Community & City will not allow Hate to grow unchecked!

this attack and the prosecution of the attackers in a

it can't be so designated, I want the DA to have every
scrap of info to work with so that when this goes

indictment on higher level felony assault charges.
I'd love to see these punks in jail on hate crime
convictions but B or C felony assault can put them
away for a good long time too. The charges they face
right now are arraignment charges, there has been no
Grand Jury yet. Other charges may be added by
indictment and charges can be upgraded at indictment
based on the available evidence.

be the truth, as was also seen on the Video Tapes supplied, and to eyewitnesses. To come into a neighborhood armed,
cruising on the Boulevard, they were not here to Trick or Treat that evening! Where were the Police that night, these individuals
covered a long strip of Crossbay Blvd, and there were no Police presence on the Boulevard on Halloween night?? Who was

utilize some of the journalistic tools employed by any
responsible purveyor of news. The laws of New York
State are readily accessible to anyone with a computer
which you obviously have since you run a website.
Before just popping off with your opinions, locate for
yourself and read the law you are referring to. Then,
unless you are a lawyer qualified to offer an opinion
as to how the wording of that law is interpreted by
the courts, take the time to speak with a prosecutor
or other lawyer who does criminal practice to get some
background information and explanation which may
better guide your thinking and allow you to understand
the situation better as to why or why not a particular
law is applicable to a particular situation.
Those who are feeding the rumor mill with talk of gang
initiation and razors or anything else should be
sharing whatever information they have with the proper
authorities: the DA and the police. If those rumors
are being told to you or me or anyone else, we should
all be notifying the authorities of them so that they
may speak to those who know the facts behind those
rumors, which then may be prove to be useful in
prosecuting the case.
CBC, this is not a game and the only plan that should
be in play here is to track the rumors, investigate,
find the facts, and insure a successful prosecution of
whatever members of the attacking group who can be

The more I hear news that the D.A. is investigating if it was a hate crime or a gang related issue I get more and more pissed. Are

Thank you to EF for posting the text of the hate
crimes law. Perhaps some of the neighborhood lawyers
will weigh in with better explanations than mine that
will help people to understand why it is not as cut
and dried as many of the posters on this site seem to
think to get this designated as a hate crime.
As I understand it, as a lay person, this is basically
what it says:
The crime must be intended in whole or in substantial
part by a belief or perception regarding the race or
some other aspect of the victim regardless of whether
that belief or perception is correct and the crime
must be basically driven by that belief or perception.
Just being a particular race, color, religion etc.
does not, by itself prove (for a court of law, I'm not
talking about the court of public opinion) to be
evidence of hate. In this case, just because the
victims were white and the victimizers something else
doesn’t make it a hate crime.
What is the belief or perception that motivated the
bad guys in this case? Some people have been saying
that this case is the same as the Minucci case. But,
is it really? Minucci, selected Moore because of a
belief (which probably was an accurate belief) that
he was up to no good (also probably an accurate
belief) because he was black and in a predominantly
white neighborhood at a late hour. Whether or not any
of us think Nick committed a crime or think he was
justified is an opinion. In the eyes of the law as it
is written, the facts before the court of law were: he
selected a victim based on a perception that the
person was probably going to commit a crime because
his blackness meant he should not be on a street in HB
late at night. (Don't yell at me, I'm trying to
explain a concept here, I know I over-simplified it.)
Nick also acknowledged his use of the N word, and
although he offered an excuse for how he was using it,
that excuse wasn't accepted by his jury. It wasn’t
really the word that made the hate crime stick. It
was the fact that what he did fit the definition of a
hate crime as expressed by the law. That he may have
been accurate about what he thought about Moore does
not mean he could do what he did from a legal sense
not a “street” justice sense.
I believe that this case now on Halloween should be
classed as a hate crime. The reason I believe that is
this: the belief or perception that caused the victims
to be selected was the belief and perception that
white people who live in Howard Beach are racist
merely because of the fact that they live here. We
have been stereotyped and that stereotype is what
drove the crime. Ergo, it fits the definition of the
law. Just as hate crimes can and do intimidate and
disrupt entire communities as evidenced by the concern
expressed by other stereotyped groups when the victims
are from their groups, this crime has intimidated and
disrupted our stereotyped group, which is our
collective geographic community.
If anyone has any information about the crime, or
things that may have gone on before it to help track
the movements of the attackers before the attack,
don’t post it here. Get it to the police or the
District Attorney where it will help to develop the
case that we all want to see developed. Venting our
anger here may make us feel better but it won’t build
the case. Information in the hands of the
investigators will.

I look forward to the next rally I hope this one gets more news coverage, I called 311 they told me to write a letter to the Mayor
asking him to make a statement. I thought it was a good idea if he gets enough letters I am sure he will make one even if it's just

I was born and raised in HB and lived there until I was 33 years old and have been living on LI for the past several years.
Living through the New Park Pizza incident (where they used my friends to make a BS example) I think it’s disgusting that these
punks are not in more hot water than they are. Authorities ruined the lives of several families back in 1986 and then did it again
when Nick received a ridiculous 15 yr sentence for stopping a criminal and for calling him what his own friends and family call
him hundreds of time a day (The “N” word). The worst part about it is knowing that the charges and penalties are exaggerated
and not being able to do anything about it.
I still have a lot of family in HB including cousins between the ages of 14 and 17. A couple of them were there that night and
stated that they really weren’t doing anything wrong to deserve a beating. It’s not like they were stealing cars or walking through
the neighborhood with “starter pistols”.
They also said that the Mickey D’s employees ordered them to leave when they ran in there for shelter. It is so obvious that this
is a hate crime. A group of men all from Brooklyn brandishing weapons had to have set out from their homes determined to find
people to beat up. That my friend is called PREMEDITATION.
It may be in retaliation from the Fat Nick incident.
Keep making noise. In a situation like this, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Normally we just sit back and suck it up. We should be
more like other races of society and maybe then we will be treated the same as everyone else.
I just want to say that I miss HB a lot. You don’t find people in other parts of the world like the people from HB. We are a breed of
our own and I’m proud to have been raised there. Please post the rally dates on the website so I can come down and support

I'm happy to see the support of MY community in this unfortunate turn of events. Keep in mind there are victims here..children
and our community, I have had a lot of discussions with numerous people which RUN this community...I am the youngest person
involved in this and I have taken a great effort in trying to piece together the delicate thoughts and emotions of various
individuals...From what I see from the Media is that this story isn't selling, its about money and this story to them has none...BUT
there is a full investigation by the 106 pct and I Personally had a verbal conversation about how this investigation is being
handled ! If anyone read the news paper last Sunday after the attack, Captain Courtesies of the 106pct was the only city
employee to say it was being investigated as a hate crime..I didn't see Ray Kelly? Taking this incident and responding to it with

.CBC.....Twenty Five year old Anthony Roma was arrested and charge with beating up has neighbor's 15 year son .
He also struck the 15 year old with a bat. The youth was taken to the hospital where he need 7 staples to close the
wound. Roma was arraigned today, Judge set bail at $1,500. Roma's neighbor on the other side who also has a 15
year old son was outraged at the Judge .A family spokesperson for the neighbor asked how can you release this
predator back onto the streets by only setting bail at $1,500, "I paid more for a traffic violation", the spokesperson
said. Whether you are Black, White, Green, or Purple you should be outraged that Anthony Roma is walking the
streets.
Anthony Roma does not exist, at least the one in this report, the report is fictitious. The boy with 7 staples in his
head does exist and so does twenty five year old George Morales who's bail was set at $1,500. At this point we do
not know what roll George Morales had in the attack but we in Howard Beach are familiar with terms "gang
mentality", "acting in concert," 40 people constitutes a gang and we all know what the "gang" did on Halloween
night. The gang "acted in concert" as one, we still have 35 members of the gang who descended upon Howard
Beach with the sole purpose to spread hatred and create violence. Will they come back? Perhaps with a weapon
next time? These 35 individuals had a choice to leave and go home or join the angry mob, they chose the later and
they must pay for that decision. We need to set an example as to deter any future gangs from doing harm in our
community, The NYPD must protect the citizens of Howard Beach and arrest the remaining members of this gang
and our DA must prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Hopefully these gang members will then become
productive members of society. If the NYPD fails us we will only become pry for future more violent attacks.

We, the European-American community of Southern Queens are a people under siege. The media demonizes us and the
politicians that we elect not only take us for granted but slap us in the face. Joe Addabbo stood shoulder to shoulder with Al
Sharpton when Nick Minucci and several others beat up a car thief. When White youth in his district are assaulted by blacks and
Hispanics he can't even bother to address a rally of concerned citizens. I needn't go in depth about the anti-White media and it's
distortions about our community. The entire establishment is against us. Saturday nights rally was a good start. We took back
the streets of our neighborhood even if only for a little while. Lets have twice as many at the next one and make sure the whole
city hears our cry for justice!

FIVE INDIVIDUALS ARRAIGNED ON ASSAULT AND MENACING CHARGES FOLLOWING HOWARD BEACH HALLOWEEN MELEE
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown today announced that four Brooklyn teenagers and a
25-year-old man have been arraigned on charges of assaulting and menacing a group of teenagers in the
Howard Beach section of Queens on Halloween night. District Attorney Brown said, “That which is alleged
to have occurred on a busy Queens thoroughfare earlier this week was not some harmless Halloween prank meant to strike fear
in its victims, but a serious assault. The defendants are accused of being part of a mob
armed with sticks that chased and then attacked a group of young people. Such alleged actions have no
place in a civilized society. Fortunately, no one was
severely injured or killed in the melee.”
The District Attorney identified the defendant as
George Morales, 25, of 290 Lincoln Avenue in Brooklyn,
Patrick Pugh, 18, of 542 King Street in Brooklyn,
Terrance Scott, 18, and Talique Jackson, 16, both of 523 Milford Street in Brooklyn,
and Victor Tossas, 16, of 700 Euclid Avenue in Brooklyn.
They were arraigned today before Queens Criminal Court Judge William Harrington on charges of second degree assault,
second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Bail was set
at $10,000 for Pugh and $1,500 each for Morales and Tossas. Scott and Jackson were released on their own
recognizance. The defendants, who face up to seven years in prison if convicted, were ordered to return
to court on November 16, 2007. The District Attorney said that, according to the
charges, Shawn, Joseph, Frederick and Angelo were chased from the corner of 159 Avenue and 92nd Avenue just before 10:00
p.m. on October 31, 2007, by a large group of individuals carrying sticks. In fear of being seriously injured,
the four victims fled around the corner to a McDonald’s Restaurant on Cross Bay Boulevard, closely
followed allegedly by their pursuers – including the five defendants. While inside the restaurant, it is
alleged that one of the pursuers struck Shawn in the back of the neck with a hard object, causing
bruising and substantial pain. Shawn then allegedly observed the defendant Pugh strike Joseph in the head with a broom
handle, which broke on contact. Joseph, who suffered a laceration and substantial pain, was taken to a local hospital where he
received seven staples to close his wound. The defendants were arrested by police officers assigned to the New York City
Police Department’s 106th Precinct. The investigation into whether the alleged actions of the defendants were motivated by hate
is ongoing. Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael E. Brovner, of the District Attorney’s Gang Violence and Hate Crimes
Bureau, is prosecuting the case under the supervision of Assistant District Attorney Mariela Palomino Herring, Bureau Chief,
and Michelle E. Goldstein, Deputy Bureau Chief, and the overall supervision of Senior Executive Assistant District Attorney for
Trials James Clark Quinn and Deputy Executive Assistant District Attorneys for Trials John H. Larsen and Robert J. Masters. It
should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

I have not seen any news coverage on our rally and channel 2 was there and they have not showed any coverage...When Nick
Minucci was charged we saw coverage on every aspect from the night of the incident all the way to his trial about how he beat
up a black man and Howard Beach hates other races, but now the tables are turned and we're trying to show people we're not
the skin heads they portray us to be we don't go around burning crosses on lawns. This is sad how people are such cowards to
cover a rally because it's fighting for the right to get rid of an unfairly given image to a community.

Why is there no information or Court Dates on WebCrims for these Criminals? Were they all released and not charged with any Crimes? When
Nicholas Minucci was charged, it was posted on WebCrims immediately for all the World to see.
It is also rumoured that many of these individuals already have Criminal Records, including Felonies, and have Court Dates for previous Crimes.
Why have they been Released, when they have committed such a Crime, and we as a Community & City will not allow Hate to grow unchecked!
We the people feel that this Hate Crime is no different than any other Hate Crime committed, and should be charged as such, to the fullest extent of
